Destined For Future Success

The German national team is no doubt one of the best in the world. Balance all over the pitch, with each player having a vast amount of experience, there are simply no faults. This can also be said for their future. Germany potentially has the best young talent out of every country. Most playing in the German Bundesliga already, it is fair to say they’ll be dominating the international stage very soon.

Spoilt for keepers, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Bernd Leno are both just 24 years old. Currently, backups to the best goalkeeper in the world, Germany are certainly not short when it comes to world class keepers. Both starters for their teams, Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen, they both play at the very top level in world football.

Despite Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng still only being 28 years old, the next stage of defenders are in development. Niklas Sule, centre-back for Hoffenheim is only 21 years old getting regular football. Other defenders consist of Jonathon Tah (21) and Antonio Rudiger (23). Although the regular German back four will still have another World Cup in them, their replacements are ready and waiting.

Without a doubt, Germany poses the best midfielders in the world. A list which is endless containing an array of talent. With older players such as Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil, Marco Reus and Andre Schurrle still playing at the top levels there could be a little wait for the developing talents to come through. Mario Gotze, Ilkay Gundogan, Serge Gnabry, Emre Can, Max Mayer, Julian Draxler, Julian Brandt, Leroy Sane, Julian Weigl and Joshua Kimmich to name a few. These players could get into any national side within a few years of playing. A very scary thought for the rest of the world.

Finding a striker has never seemed to be a problem for Joachim Löw. World Cup top goalscorer Miroslav Klose has hung up his boots with Thomas Muller his replacement and not a bad one at that. However, at this current stage, there are no out and out young German goalscorers. Kevin Volland is the likely replacement for Muller, but only time will tell.
